Two proposals have been put forward to modify the future layout of Barcelona's MotoGP track following the death of Luis Salom .
The fatally crashed during practice for June's Catalunya Grand Prix.
The Moto2 rider was treated at the scene after falling off his SAG-run Kalex but later died of his injuries.
MotoGP's Safety Commission is to examine two proposals to adjust the track following a meeting with riders at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, Motorsport.comresports.
One is to continue with the Formula 1 layout, which was used following the Spaniard's crash, which features a sharper turn 10
The other is to revert to the original MotoGP layout with an expanded run-off area at turn 12 - however that would involve moving grandstands.
More detailed proposals will be presented to riders at the next safety commission in July.
Before the meeting, former world champion Valentino Rossi, said which option he'd prefer.
"We need to understand if we have a chance to use the normal MotoGP layout because I think it's better.
"But for me it's not enough to just have the gravel bed where Luis crashed because also with the gravel bed instead of the asphalt I think the situation maybe improve a little bit, but it's not enough."
So if we want to use that corner we need more run-off area and to have run-off area you need to move the stands.
Salom made his Moto2 debut in 2014, and scored three podiums.
He signed up for the SAG team for the 2016 season and impressively claimed second place in Qatar at the season opener.
He took to the podium in tears, thanking his mother and family for sticking with him through the tough times as he looked to continue his rise through the rankings and enjoy his racing again.
